As has already been reported on major news outlets in Ghana,Africa and the world at large, serious confusion engulfed Ghana’s parliament on the eve of the last day of the seventh parliament and the first day of the eighth Parliament.
Members of Parliament Elect of both the ruling New Patriotic Party and the opposition National Democratic Congress were on the throats of each other purposely on the election of a new Speaker of Parliament.
After the back and forth and countless fist fights, leadership of Parliament went into a conclave meeting and reached an agreement, leading to Alban Bagbin becoming the Speaker of Parliament, Joe Osei Owusu as 1st Deputy Speaker and Andrew Asiamah as Second Deputy Speaker.
Today on live television on Joy News,the MP for Asawase has asserted that a Supreme Court Judge tried to bribe NDC Members of Parliament Electet to vote for Profr. Mike Ocquaye as Speaker instead of Alban Bagbin.
