A 3-year ban has been placed on Bright Senior High School, which is located in Kukurantumi in the Eastern part of the country by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
This was announced by the Public Relations Officer of WAEC, Winifred Apiaw.
The ban came as a result of examination malpractices going on in the school and henceforth students in the school will be given a designated center by the examination body to sit for their exams.
Ms. Winifred stated that the issue has been taken to court and the school is under investigations. She therefore mentioned that official recognition for the school has been withdrawn and they are in no position to conduct exams for the next three years.
The PRO, further stated that Bright SHS will not be recognized as an examination centre where their students can write exams.
Students of the school will hence be moved to a different examination center to take their exams.
The school’s results in Social Studies and Integrated Science are under serious investigation by WAEC, Ms. Winifred Apiaw said.
It could be recalled in August that the school made headlines after their headmaster asked his students to attack media personnel and invigilators during the WAEC examinations, an act the examination body seriously condemned.
