The President of the Republic of Ghana His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has fired from office the suspended Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA).
Mr. Adjenim Boateng Adjei was caught in an investigative piece conducted by former Multimedia Journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni, admitting on camera that as CEO of the PPA he has given contracts to companies that he owns or is a Director in it.
Following this report,the President suspended him and referred the matter to the Commissioner of Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) as well as the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
After thorough work done by CHRAJ,they came to the conclusion that, Mr Adjenim Boateng Adjei posited himself in a conflict of interest position as the Chief Executive Officer of the PPA.
Based on this judgement by CHRAJ,His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,the President of the Republic of Ghana has through his Communications Director, Eugene Arhin, issued a statement to terminate the appointment of Mr Adjenim Boateng Adjei.
