The Ghanaian music industry has seen tremendous growth over time, even though I agree if we had done things a little bit different and better we would have grown more than this.
But honestly speaking we cannot overemphasize too much on the many heinous mistakes we have committed and come to a conclusion that this industry of ours has not seen any improvement.
One major part or aspect that has seen tremendous growth in our music industry is the fact that the Industry has been extremely receptive to many young talents and female musicians as compared to the past. Many young men and women have been boldened to venture and make ends meat out of this venture and have been able to make music a professional work or a highly respected career that they embark on.
The past five years has seen the emergence of very youthful population in the music industry with the likes of the late Ebony Reigns, Wendy Shay,Sista Afia,Eno Barony, Mzvee,Yaa Jackson, Kidi,King Promise,Kwesi Arthur, Kuami Eugene, Kelvynboy,Krymi,Kurl Songx, and a host of others making giant strides in the industry. The last three years has been quite intriguing as Ebony and Kuami Eugene have swept the biggest awards at the biggest music awards in Ghana, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
I laid the above foundation because another sensational musician with a great and silky smooth voice has emerged in the music industry. Her Lyrical dexterity and the clarity in her voice amazes alot of people who have paid attention to her. The beautiful skinny girl singer has boldly claimed that she is the face of Kumasi music at the moment when it comes to the female singers and mediaghananews.com will be tempted to buy into this statement if female musicians in Kumasi do not step up their game.
Empress Nanah Adwjoah is the beautiful, sexy saucy singer that I am talking about. The crooner of Don’t Let Me Go song which is fast picking up on the streets of Kumasi and Ghana as a whole is the person I’m talking about. With the way Empress is warming the hearts of music lovers in Kumasi,it won’t take long for the music industry as a whole to be very receptive of her and the kind of music she does. At just 17 years old and the type of matured music she does, the sky is only her starting point.
