BECE Student Dies After Writing Maths Paper
A candidate writing this years Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) has died following a short illness during the exams. The deceased whose name has been identified as Richard Mensah, was a final year student of the Apowa Methodist Junor High School in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region.
School authorities say, he fell unconscious a few minutes before the second paper, Basic Design Technology (BDT) and was immediately rushed to the hospital when it became serious but sadly he couldn’t make it.
Rumours suggest that he had complained of some minor headache when he got to the examination center but managed to sit for the mathematics paper before the unfortunate event happened.
