NABCO Trainees Association of Ghana (NABTAG)
For Immediate Release:
THE THREATS CANNOT UNDERMINE NABTAG’S RESOLUTENESS IN PROTECTING TRAINEES’ WELFARE AND THE GOOD IMAGE OF NABCO
It may be recalled that few months ago, NABTAG relasesd a press statement to inform NABCO trainees and enthusiasts of the association that ever since the executives, upon arriving at a consensus to symbolize their warm gratitude to the Akufo-Addo led NPP government, declared their unreserved endorsement and sought to subscribe to the need for retention to pave way for the youth to find their grounds in securing sustainable jobs, Nana Berimah and Nana Tekyie, who identify themselves as the Patron and PRO of CONAT respectively, occasioned by the background political tactics played by the opposition to sabotage the great effort being made by the current administration, have incessantly rendered attacks against NABTAG.
Chiefly, the National President of the association, Mr. Dennis Katakyie, has been given several threats and attacks from Nana Barimah on the account that NABTAG‘s support for NPP government, of which reason is backed by the timely intervention of the NABCO scheme which has transitionaly equipped its beneficiaries with employable skills and ultimately making preparations to link them to sustainable employment through the matrix of the exit pathway arrangements, is merely meant to achieve a political purpose, and not the sole goal of social security.
The onset of the attacks took the form of condemning the stakeholders of NABCO, when the few section of trainees who were faced with payment challenges offered them the leeway to achieve their vicious goal of tainting the image of the scheme. Blinded by the temporal discomfort faced by the few trainees who were affected by the payment challenges, consolidated their energy in forming an association, called CONAT. CONAT was not established with the genuine intent of safeguarding the welfare of trainees, but leverage on the then payment challenges to achieve its pernicious agenda.
NABTAG, which had already gone through the professional procedures in its formation, warned the followers of CONAT to disengage themselves and take the right channels to seek redress. But shrouded in the then temporal payment issues, their conscience was bought up by the pretentious orchestrations staged by Nana Barimah, the team lead of CONAT (who isn’t a NABCO Trainee anymore). With time, as the payment challenges were gradually getting resolved through the managerial intelligence of the CEO of NABCO in establishing a new payment system, CONAT realized that they had no avenue [arsenal] to take advantage of, thus, shifted their focus from the payment challenges to demonstrating, attacking, inciting, and sabotaging for permanent employment.
The permanent employment agenda had already been initiated by NABTAG through consultations and dialogues with the appropriate entities; stakeholders and other state officials. The same trainees who got their payment issues resolved through the streamlining of the payment portal and the related validation processes, were still under the influence of CONAT to rally behind the executives oblivious of their ulterior motive to bring NABCO to disrepute.
They shot themselves in the foot by lying to trainees that they have submitted a letter of petition to the presidency, which was later revealed through the investigations of NABTAG that the purported letter was sent through an EMS outlet in Kumasi and never reached the said destination point. When the bombshell was published, majority of trainees who were ardent supporters of the former adviced themselves and found grace in NABTAG‘s genuine commitment to defending the nation building journey, especially in championing the petition for permanent employment.
Their pretentious schemes were meant to persuade NABCO trainees into thinking that CONAT had an honorable cause to pursue their welfare. This, they anticipated, could help cover up their politically motivated agenda. NABTAG, coming to the realization of their bent quest in pretexting on fighting for trainees’ welfare for their gain, stood on its toles and still fixing them in their right place. Nana Barimah, the so called Patron who is not a NABCO Trainee, and his cohorts, being cognizant of NABTAG‘s resoluteness in protecting the welfare of NABCO trainees and the image of the scheme from external attacks, resolved to attacking the president of the association, Dennis Katakyie.
NABCO beneficiaries ought to exercise caution on the various platforms, as some of the CONAT members have been planted on such channels to cause chaos by influencing other people to thread against the NABCO initiative.
Presently, NABTAG has several audio notes and messages sent from the CONAT members and screenshots of threats on social media (Facebook, telegram, WhatsApp and personal conversations) of which Dennis Katakyie was made the target of threats and attacks.
We would like to inform the CONAT fraternity that any further attempt of threat will be handled by the BNI; the appropriate body responsible for coordinating security related issues. Already, we have forwarded screens hots and audio notes of the threats to initiate records
Note: It is not for no reason that CONAT applauded the NDC for promising to permanent NABCO trainees in their manifesto after belittling the initiative in comparison to Okada. This same association informed NABCO trainees that they have petitioned the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa, for permanent employment which was never the case. If they believed in the leadership of the current administration, what then made them shift their focus to the NDC manifesto? Now, it’s about time those following Nana Barimah and his people reason enough to understand that CONAT is just being used to achieve a political gain against the NPP government.
*Again, Nana Berimah who is not a NABCO Trainee, is being sponsored to move from one radio station to another just to attact *NABTAG* by tagging it as a political association.
What NABTAG believes in is the leadership of service of the Akuffo-Addo led NPP government which has resulted (amongst other things) in equipping the youth with employable skills and readying them for sustainable jobs.
Believe in the initiator of the NABCO program for permanent jobs and not the one who has no knowledge on how NABCO was introduced
Let us vote 4More4Nana2DoMore to get the nation building journey yield the expected result for mother Ghana.

National Communication Team Lead (NABTAG)
Cc: Dennis Katakyie,
National President (NABTAG)
