The opposition NDCS General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has clashed with military personnel situated at Banda in the Bono Region over the soldiers’ blatant refusal to allow some residents to register in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise in Banda. It is believed the military personnel suspects that they are foreign nationals.
In a video that has gone viral on major social media platforms especially Facebook and Whatsapp, the NDC General Secretary is seen furiously exchanging words with the soldiers who had blocked the road to prevent plenty people who have been bused from accessing registration centres to register for a Voters Identification Card.
It is rightly not known where these group of people has been bused from but the NDC General Secretary is seen in the video making call to someone that these people are legal people who should be allowed to register and does not understand why these security men are preventing them. unclear where the people were being bused from. The NDC has had cause to complain over what they say is the use of military personnel to intimidate some legitimate Ghanaians from registering on the basis that they are foreigners. The NDC Presidential Candidate has had cause to complain at this same issue where he called President Akufo Addo a discriminatory and nepotistic leader.
