A tattoo is a form of body modification where a design is made by inserting ink, dyes, and pigments, either indelible or temporary, into the dermis layer of the skin to change the pigment. Getting a tattoo done is just like getting married. You must think deeply and make sure you are about to make the right choice. A tattoo is a permanent something so when you decide to get a tattoo done, know exactly what you are getting yourself into. Tattooing is practiced in most parts of the world, it is barely seen among populations with the darkest skin color.
Most people get tattoos done perhaps for decoration. Others also get tattoos done without knowing its meaning. But, do you know what some of these tattoos mean? Did you know tattoos have meanings? Away from what tattoos actually mean, why do people get tattoos designed on their body?
People tattoo parts of their body such as leg, arm, back, teeth, eyes, lips, nose, stomach, ankle, thighs, and other sensitive parts of the body. But do you wonder why people get tattoos done?. Everyone has a personal reason for tattooing their bodies. Most people do it out of curiosity and peer pressure. They get highly attracted when they see the beautiful designs their friends have on their bodies. They further get curious and want to know what it feels like to have a tattoo done on your body. It is not always done out of curiosity but out of love. Love covers a greater part of why people get tattoos done. The kind of love someone feels for a certain object or creature makes them want to have it designed on their body. This is why we see people with tattoo designs like stars, butterflies, dragons, snakes, peacocks, eagles, hearts, names of people, and sometimes their faces. People also do tattoos for pleasure. Just for the love of it and the fun having a tattoo on your body. Most people do tattoos with the intention of showing the world how religious they are by drawing the sign of a cross, Mary, Jesus, the Holy Bible, and sometimes rosaries.
There are definitely going to be biblical expressions and health implications on tattoos. Tattoos breach the skin which means you are easily exposed to diseases such as skin cancer and other blood-borne diseases. Allergic reactions are possible because tattoo inks especially red, blue, yellow, and green dyes can cause itching and rashes at the tattoo site. Tattoos pose many health dangers to the body and can even lead to loss of lives. Leviticus 19:28 says that “You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you. I am the Lord.” This is not to say that anyone who has a tattoo designed on their body is condemned or a sinner and is automatically going straight to hell when they die, no for it does not matter if you have tattoos on your body or not. Tattoos are not the deciding factor on your eligibility to enter into heaven. The Bible says thou shall not judge, God knows our hearts.
