Reports reaching mediaghananews.com indicates that the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East who also doubles as the Minister for Special Development, Mrs Mavis Hawa Koomson has been arrested by personnel of the Ghana Police Service.
She is in the grip of Criminal Investigators at the Central Region of Ghana where she’s MP. Her Arrest comes days after the Minister was forced to give a warning shot at a registration center where she was monitoring the ongoing voter registration exercise.
The MP explains that she was forced to give a warning shot at the registration center purposely because her life was under threat and she needed to defend herself in the midst of such difficult circumstances.
Many people across the length and breadth of Ghana has called for the termination of Mrs Hawa Koomson’s appointment as a Minister and have subsequently called upon her constituents to vote against her as their MP. The opposition NDC and many Civil Society organizations are leading the pack for her arrest and subsequent termination of her appointment.
