Sarah Al-Amiri is the scientist leading the United Arab Emirate’s mission to Mars.
The country will despatch a satellite this week to study the planet’s weather and climate.
The spacecraft, named Hope, is regarded as just that by Sarah as she wants the project to inspire the next generation to take up sciences in school.
“This is something that we couldn’t fathom could have been possible to work in the UAE,” Sarah said.
